I am writing to tell you that I have been accepted on staff on a Christian camp this summer and I am so excited! Fort Lone Tree Christian Camp is located ion the mountains of southeastern New Mexico and has a unique ministry in working with 8-12 year old children. The Fort looks like an actual 1800’s stockade (how cool!!) and offers lots of fun activities for kids. Over 1000 children will attend the Fort this summer. They will have an opportunity to make new friends; to be challenged by activities like horseback riding, rappelling, rock wall climbing, and much more! They also get to learn about Christ in a loving, active, and fun environment. Fort Lone Tree is committed to sharing the gospel with young people and helping them grow in their Christian walk.
As a staff member at the Fort, I will have an opportunity to impact kids through Bible studies, devotional times, sharing my testimony, and leading activities. Many children make first-time decisions for Christ at camp. Since Fort Lone Tree is an outreach ministry, camper costs are kept to a minimum so anyone who is interested can attend. Camper fees cover about half of the actual cost to run camp. All Lone Tree staff raises their own support to keep camper fees down.
I am asking you to join my support team, both prayerfully and financially, during this upcoming summer. I must raise $1350.00 this summer at Lone Tree. Your support is an investment in the spiritual growth of hundreds of children. I will try to write regularly to my support team to keep you guys updated of what is happening at camp.
Would you please consider investing in this ministry opportunity? If so, please fill out the pledge card found in the “Want to Be a Part…” brochure, and return it to me with your pledge as soon as you can. You can mail it to PO Box 547; Capitan, NM 88316 and label it "Maya Gonzales". All support for “Lone Tree Inc.” is tax deductible, and you will receive a receipt. Please contact me if you have any questions. You can learn more about the ministry at www.lonetree.org. You can also follow my blog at maya-rita.blogspot.com
